Amazon Favorites for Baby

If you’re new to parenthood like we were, you will find there are way too many options! Here are some of our Amazon favorites for baby (and a little bit of why!). This might become a long one but sharing is caring and Amazon is a LIFE SAVER with a newborn!

Diapers + Wipes

The Pampers Pure Protection Disposable Baby Diapers, Hypoallergenic and Unscented Protection package was one of our favorites. One of the most important things for me as someone who has sensitive skin was finding something that was hypoallergenic and unscented for our little one. We found the fit of the Pampers brand worked best with B’s body (fairly slim) and being a part of Pampers Club has saved us a few extra dollars along the way as well! I’m a sucker for a points reward system.

Again with the wipes, we gravitated towards the Pampers brand and were both pleasantly surprised with our experience with them. The Pampers Sensitive Water Based Baby Diaper Wipes, Hypoallergenic and Unscented option was our route when selecting how to clean our little guys tush. We found they stayed moist in the packaging and the actual wipe was soft on the skin. Some of the other brands of wipes we tried dried out quickly in the packaging or had texture on the actual wipe which was a little more tough on the skin.

Feeding

Before our little one was born, we had already decided that bottle feeding was the direction we would be going in. Although I had been pumping in the beginning, with the health scare I had after birth we had to get rid of stressors and for me that was pumping. I’ve included a few items below that have helped us with feeding and my initial pumping journey.

Of all the samples we received during the baby registry process, Dr. Brown’s and Comotomo bottles have stuck! In our opinion, Dr. Brown’s Wide-neck Anti-Colic bottles do a great job of dispersing any air within the bottle and keeping it out of the belly. This really helped to keep access air out of the stomach and in turn keep us colic-free! Comotomo Baby Bottles on the other hand have three parts total and are a game changer when it comes to washing and durability. One thing we really love about the Comotomo bottles now that he is older, is that he is really able to grip the bottles with his tiny hands!

The Boon Grass Countertop Drying Rack has worked extremely well for our family (however, I will mention it’s been our only drying rack). It is fairly compact which is great and gives great airflow to our drying bottles and accessories. They do have some add-ons as well! To be honest, I really wanted this one because it matched our kitchen aesthetic the best and we lucked out that it works well too!

As mentioned earlier, pumping did not last long for our family BUT we did end up ordering the Haakaa Manual Breast Pump after we got home from the hospital. In preparation for our little guys arrival we received a free breast pump through insurance (check into this before purchasing your own!), so we didn’t have to worry about that after birth but did use this to catch let-down after a pumping session. This is by no means a necessity but did make me feel like I was making the most of my pumping. For less than $20, it seemed like an easy purchase for us!

I won’t be adding any bibs, spit up cloths or towels to our list here. In my opinion they are all basically the same outside of some being more soft than others or a little more absorbent than others. There were times when we would grab a bib to match the outfit, other times we grabbed whatever was closest to clean up!

Sleep/Bedding

The Ely’s & Co. Waterproof Bassinet Sheets were a great purchase for us once we were home from the hospital. A friend of ours hadn’t had extra bassinet sheets when they came home from the hospital and were scrambling when they needed them on their first night home when their little ones had an accident. One of the best parts of these sheets is that they are waterproof! SO soft on the outside where the fabric touches baby but a thick lining on the inside makes these a no brainer for any families using a bassinet.

We had to stick with the Ely’s & Co. Fitted Crib Sheets after having such a great luck on the bassinet sheets. We truly appreciate the soft material of the sheets and the ease of use putting these on the actual crib mattress. Although we have a TON of sheets for the crib (highly recommend getting LOTS), these are absolutely our favorite!

We have to be honest, we don’t have a lot of experience with a lot of different sleep sacks. When we were looking for sleep sacks we were looking for great reviews as well as multipacks. The Ely’s & Co. Baby Wearable Blankets were our first choice. Not to seem tied to any one brand, but Ely’s & Co. really does have great stuff! These are super easy to get on baby, are breathable and wash easily. The multipack helps with convenience when we have a spill or an accident and need to wear a new one on the fly.

Accessories

After talking with so many families and doing a TON of research, here are a few of our favorite accessories that we purchased for the hospital, around the house and to make both the summer and winter in the midwest a little more bearable!

Hands down one of the absolute BEST items we received at our baby shower was the Baby Shusher! A friend of ours had this on their list of things to bring to the hospital with us and they were so, so right! Being able to put this in the bassinet with B while we were in the hospital as well as the car ride home was a lifesaver. This miracle device does such a good job calming down little ones and we can not recommend it enough!!

This was another recommendation for friends to add to our hospital packing list as well as to have around the house. The Electric Baby Nail Trimmer came in handy immediately after birth. Although I read about it, babies can in fact come out of the womb with long nails. This was so nice to be able to gently trim B’s nails and not worry about accidentally clipping his tiny little finger (which I did in fact do later in the summer after thinking I might try actual clippers…never again!). With so many attachments and settings, this is so easy to use and the carrying case makes it incredibly easy to travel with.

Bug nets and winter car seat covers are AMAZING if you have bugs in the summer and freezing temps in the winter. The Sysmie Bug Net has a zipper in the middle which lets you unzip and grab your little one without having to remove the entire bug net.

We loved the Skip Hop Winter Car Seat Cover for a similar reason. There are multiple flaps at the top to cover baby while transporting or taking a snooze AND in my opinion this was one of the better quality and better looking winter car seat covers. We thought we could get through the winter without this but after dropping his blanket multiple times in the snow, we knew there had to be a better way. He was so cozy in his little car seat cocoon!

We are in fact a pacifier family, take that as you wish. We both grew up this way and find it extremely helpful for our little one. The Wubbanub Pacifier is our favorite! Although we have the giraffe in our house (couldn’t find this one online), we wish we had the detachable version!! Having to hand wash the entire pacifier makes things difficult if your baby is getting upset. However, having the little stuffed animal attached really does help soothe B in the middle of the night or during nap time when he’s stirring.

These are just a few of our favorite products on Amazon for baby. There are SO many options out there that it really is up to you on how you proceed with purchasing. If it works for your family, we say go for it! If you have any questions on products on this list or even other products, make sure to reach out!!
